Books, books and more books
Summer is properly here and it's very pleasant to read outdoors, when my busy schedule allows it! I have lots of books on both my online and physical shelves which are waiting their turn.
Writing news
From now on, this newsletter is going to be whenever I have something to say, rather than me trying to produce one every second Sunday without fail. The Indie Books & Authors Newsletter, which I produce weekly, turned 6 months old last week. I’ve had lots of great comments about it and there is certainly no shortage of new material to include. Regarding my own writing, my books will be part of an indie authors’ sale next month. I’ll provide more info nearer the time.
Blog news
Bloggers who use WordPress can no longer have their blog posts automatically shared to Twitter. This is kind of annoying because it means you must remember to share the post, rather than letting the software do it for you. My views don’t seem to have suffered and in fact the blog has had well over 2,000 views every month consistently since August 2022.

The archive
I had a delve into my reading record (which goes back to 2001) and made a list of my most-read authors, which was unsurprisingly topped by Terry Pratchett.

House of Fiction by Phyllis Richardson, which examines the influence of great houses upon great authors. I bought it from the British Library shop a couple of years ago.

Do Not Adjust Your Set, sort of Monty Python for kids, starring David Jason, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Denise Coffey, Terry Gilliam and the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

Quiet Life, the third album from Japan, which was first released in 1979. I have a recent remastered edition which is a very attractive red vinyl.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading - see you next time!
