Do you read more e-books... or p-books?
Only a few years ago, I didn't read e-books at all. Now, they're about three-quarters of my reading! I still like paperbacks, though.
Writing news
Recently I decided to let the people of Twitter decide what genre my next short story collection should be! I’ve already written a dystopian collection, After the Burning, so what next? The choices were thriller, sci-fi, horror or weird fiction. Surprisingly, weird fiction was the winner of my poll. I hope to start working on it soon, although everything is super-busy at the moment and I haven’t had time to progress on my non-fiction work, let alone develop new writing ideas. Last week my novel They Lie Here was on a blog tour, which was successful as I had some great reviews.
Also, I made this graphic for Indie April and it’s nice to see the three book covers together.
Blog news
I’ve now passed the 900 posts milestone on the blog! That means the 1000th post is not too far away. When I started the blog in summer 2018, I didn’t think I’d be writing so many!

Returning to the e-books and p-books theme, I once imagined them, plus an audiobook, walking into a bar and argue about who was the best.

Taking Liberties, a short story anthology about freedom, which was gifted to me by one of the writers included in the book. I’ve read three of the stories and am very impressed so far.

When I had no internet, as I couldn’t stream anything I dug out my Red Dwarf DVD box set and watched series 1. As this is one of my favourite shows, no doubt I’ll be re-watching the other series before long.

My latest bargain second-hand record is the album Frenzy by Split Enz (1981 version) which is an interesting mix of new wave pop and madcap art-rock. The cover artwork has rather a lot of sheep on it, a reference to the band’s New Zealand origins.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading - see you next time!
