It's launch time for 'A Strange Belief'!
My weird short story collection is now available on Amazon for Kindle (or Kindle app) and is on Kindle Unlimited too!
Writing news
Yesterday was release day for A Strange Belief: Weird Stories. I was quite thrilled to see the book reach #119 in the Science Fiction Anthologies (Kindle), #267 in the same category not just for Kindle, and #475 in Contemporary Short Stories in the Amazon UK rankings. Shortly afterwards it was even better, reaching #82 in the first category I mentioned. I know that rankings aren’t everything and they change very quickly, but it was a boost to my confidence. If you download and read the book, please do rate and review. Let me know which story was your favourite and which was the weirdest!
Blog news
I recently discovered that my blog had 24k views in 2022, which is double what it was in 2020! The odd thing is that the more views I have, the less engagement I seem to get. Don’t ask me why I have only just discovered these stats. I think I’m on course to supersede last year’s views, providing that I keep publishing posts! I can also see which countries my traffic is from, the majority being from the UK followed by the US. Interestingly, during the 5 years my blog has been in existence, I’ve had precisely 1 visitor from each of these countries: Cuba, South Sudan, Benin, Greenland, Cayman Islands, Togo and Mozambique. If that was you, then hi and thanks for visiting!

The archive
A couple of years ago, I published a short story, She Dreams of Diggers. It has my trademark blend of mystery, body horror and dystopia.

The Last Temptation by Nikos Kazantzakis. It’s a long book so is taking me a while but eventually will provide material for a ‘film of the book’ post.

I have been quite busy so have not watched much, but I did sit through The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars, a direct-to-video sequel film which is charmingly rubbish.

Dark on Fire, the fourth album from Turin Brakes (2007) of which my favourite tracks are ‘Here Comes the Moon’ and ‘Dark on Fire’.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading - see you next time!
