New year, new writing!
Wishing you a belated happy new year. My next short story collection is coming soon!
Writing news
Be very afraid! My forthcoming book is Hall of Hauntings: Spooky Stories. The third in my series of Kindle short story collections, I was originally going to wait until the autumn to publish it, but I reasoned that fans of supernatural and creepy fiction don’t wait until Halloween! I have not quite decided on the release date yet, but it might be in March. Once I have decided, I’ll put the book on Amazon and make it available to pre-order. I just finished creating the cover, so I wanted to share it with you.
Blog news
My blog has reached lots of milestones lately! It has passed 100,000 all-time views; 2023 had a significantly higher number of views than previous years at over 31,000; December 2023 was a record month at over 3,500 views. I recently celebrated 1000 blog posts and 5 years of ‘film of the book’ posts too. My most viewed post published in 2023 was the Gary Numan concert review and the most viewed post of all time continues to be my Roald Dahl themes!

In honour of a new Simon Reeve TV show, Wilderness, soon to be aired, here’s my review of Equator.

The Monk by Matthew Lewis, first published in 1796 when the author was 20. It’s a gothic classic and quite obscene but also fun because it’s so over the top.

Grange Hill, which I’m working my way through. Now up to series 10 (1987) which includes characters such as Zammo, Jackie, Imelda, Danny Kendall and Mr Bronson.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which is not my favourite Beatles album but contains a few favourite songs such as ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’, ‘A Day in the Life’, ‘Sgt. Pepper’s…’ and ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading - see you next time!
