Thrilled to be in the top 200 dystopian books
A flurry of sales for my short story collection 'After the Burning' pushed it up the rankings on Amazon, reaching the top 200 dystopian books at one point!
Writing news
This week I also passed the milestone of 200 all-time sales since I published my first book We Watch You in autumn 2021. I’m very grateful to everyone who has bought or downloaded my books! Now if everyone who bought a copy could write a review, that would be amazing… although I know not everyone is comfortable leaving feedback. I’m trying to mention reviews and indie authors as much as possible at the moment, because it’s #IndieApril and I’m doing my best to support other authors on social media as well as promoting my work. Anyway, here is my author page on Amazon if you would like to check it out.

The archive
One of my most-viewed non-bookish posts is my review of James Acaster’s show, Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999. I couldn’t believe how much my face hurt from laughing. It was the last live show I saw before the first lockdown.

Reach for the Stars by Michael Cragg, a much-anticipated read about pop from 1996 - 2006. I borrowed it from the library today, just before hearing about the untimely death of my favourite S Club 7 member Paul, and not long after writing a reappraisal of the band on my blog. It also has a chapter on the best 90s boy band, 5ive.

The Sally Lockhart Mysteries, a 2-part series based on Philip Pullman’s books, starring Billie Piper. They are dark, Victorian-era thrillers.

The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine soundtrack, which accompanies one of my favourite films ever. It included previously unreleased tracks, ‘Only a Northern Song’, ‘Hey Bulldog’, ‘All Together Now’ and ‘It’s All Too Much’, in addition to already released songs including ‘Eleanor Rigby’, ‘When I’m Sixty-Four’, ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ and of course ‘Yellow Submarine’.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading - see you next time!
